چکیده

In computer graphics and geometric modeling one generally faces the problem to integrate a variety of curve and surface types into a single program. Object-oriented design ooers the opportunity to use the inherent hierarchical structure of curves and surfaces to solve this problem. This paper presents an object-oriented framework together with its C++ implementation that starts from an abstract class of general diierentiable curves and surfaces and in turn reenes this design to various parametric representations of curves and surfaces. This design includes all of the standard curve and surface types and provides a powerful and uniform interface for applications. Examples from diierential geometry, and blending illustrate the approach. x1. Introduction In this paper we present an object-oriented framework together with its C++ implementation that starts from an abstract class of general diierentiable curves and surfaces and in turn reenes this design to various parametric representations of curves and surfaces 19, 26]. This design includes all of the standard curve and surface types and provides a powerful and uniform interface for applications. In Section 2 after a short introduction into object-oriented design and classes we present our approach to order the types of curves and surfaces into a hierarchical structure and review implementation features and selected curve and surface classes.

An Object-Oriented Approach to Curves and Surfaces

Applications in computer graphics and geometric modeling generally require the integration of a variety of curve and surface types into a single system. Object-oriented design offers the opportunity to use the inherent hierarchical structure of curves and surfaces to solve this problem. This paper presents a top down approach to the design of an object-oriented framework for curves and surfaces...

Declarative Semantics in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey

One of the modern paradigms to develop an application is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles in applications. In an application, we must distinguish between procedural semantics and declarative semantics for their implementation in a specific programming language. For the procedural semantics, we can write a ...

Modeling and Evaluation of Stochastic Discrete-Event Systems with RayLang Formalism

In recent years, formal methods have been used as an important tool for performance evaluation and verification of a wide range of systems. In the view points of engineers and practitioners, however, there are still some major difficulties in using formal methods. In this paper, we introduce a new formal modeling language to fill the gaps between object-oriented programming languages (OOPLs) us...

A Multi-Formalism Modeling Framework: Formal Definitions, Model Composition and Solution Strategies

In this paper, we present a multi-formalism modeling framework (abbreviated by MFMF) for modeling and simulation. The proposed framework is defined based on the concepts of meta-models and uses object-orientation to overcome the complexities and to enhance the extensibility. The framework can be used as a basis for modeling by various formalisms and to support model composition in a unified man...
